We’re hosting a beach cleanup at Pine Point Beach on Wednesday, September 10th. Meet at 10th Street at 3:00 p.m. We’ll provide trash bags and gloves, but let’s do our best to carpool—seniors are encouraged to help drive others. Come out, make a difference, and help keep our beaches clean! Community service hours will be given!

Bowdoin Basics for Students and Families - Get to know Bowdoin in a virtual information session hosted by an admissions officer. There will be time for students and parents to ask questions on everything from academic and career opportunities, to campus life, living in coastal Maine, and more. Sept. 10; 8 p.m. EDT Sept. 25; 8 p.m. EDT So Your Student is a High School Senior: A Conversation for Parents - Join an admissions officer for a general overview of the admissions process geared toward parents and guardians. Topics covered include researching schools, essay writing, application timelines, financial aid, and ways to support your students throughout the process. There will be time following the presentation for questions. Sept. 11; 8 p.m. EDT Student Life at Bowdoin - Join an admissions officer and a panel of current Bowdoin students for a roundtable discussion on student life and activities. Bring your questions and come ready to learn about athletics, residential life, dining, Maine, and more. Sept. 15; 8 p.m. EDT Your College Journey: A Chat with FGLI Students and Alumni - Join Bowdoin Admissions and members of the Bowdoin community for a special virtual information session geared toward first-generation students and/or families with fewer financial resources. You'll hear from current students about navigating campus life, learn about available on and off-campus resources, and get a sense of outcomes and next-steps after graduation for first-generation alumni of the college. Sept. 22; 8 p.m. EDT Insights and Advice for Application Writing - Learn the importance of effective writing in college applications with tips on how to best tell your authentic story through your application. Post Secondary Fair information: Greely High School is holding their 13th Annual Post Secondary Fair on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 from 6 - 8 pm in their gymnasium. This is free and open to the public - all communities are welcome to attend!

College Fair Information: Scarborough High School will be hosting a Fall Canadian College Fair on Wednesday, Sept 17th, from 6:30 - 8:00. Employment Opportunity: First Parish Church in Gorham has two Childcare Assistant positions open for Sunday mornings, two hours a week, from 9:30-11:30 am. Christine Dyke, Minister at First Parish is looking for two people over the age of 14 to take initiative with and care for young children on Sunday morning. Responsibilities include assisting Sunday School teacher and caring for children under 4 years old. Interested students are asked to please send an email to Christine@firstparishgorham.org with experience, age and references.

From Student Services - Maine Day at Bowdoin College will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM; this is a program dedicated to Maine's high school seniors! Throughout the day, you'll have the opportunity to take a tour of the campus, hear from a panel of Maine students about their Bowdoin experience, meet students from all over Maine and all over the world, have a meal in the dining hall, and speak with an admissions counselor - be sure to ask lots of questions!
