Celebrating Our Community
Celebrating Our Teachers (May 4–8)
This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week. We want to take a moment to thank our incredible GHS educators for the relationships they build with students and for creating a school climate where everyone feels seen and supported. Their dedication defines our school community.
Show Your Appreciation! Students and parents, we encourage you to take a moment this week to reach out and thank a teacher who has made a difference in your life. A simple email can go a long way in showing our staff how much their hard work means to you. If you aren't sure what to say, feel free to use the template below:
Subject: Thank You! / Teacher Appreciation Week
Dear [Teacher Name],
I wanted to send a quick note for Teacher Appreciation Week to thank you for everything you do. I’ve really enjoyed [mention a specific project, lesson, or topic] in your class this year.
Thank you for helping me feel [supported/challenged/welcome] at GHS and for all the effort you put into our school!
Best,

Maine App Challenge Success
Oliver Emerson was the third place finalist and won a $1,000 scholarship.
Milo Saucier and Everett Hurder (absent from photo) received the sixth place and tenth place awards, respectively.
All three Top 10 students received Apple MacBook Neos.
Owen Eling placed in the Top 25.
GHS is taking home $250 in the new "most apps in the top 10" category. (We tied with Yarmouth High School.)
The formal ceremony was Saturday, May 2nd, 10:00 am at Tyler Technologies in Yarmouth.
A special thank you to Rebecca Ambrose for her guidance in supporting these students!
A Magical Prom Night
Thank you to everyone who made this past Saturday’s prom at Dunegrass such a success! We especially want to thank our Prom Advisor, Samantha Teixeira, for her perfect orchestration of the event.
