Celebrating Excellence: Isaac Hawkins Wins Manilow Music Teacher Award!

We have incredible news to share! Our very own Isaac Hawkins has been named the winner of the Manilow Music Teacher Award for the Portland area. Driven by an outpouring of community support, Isaac was selected to receive a $5,000 cash prize and $5,000 in "Manilow Bucks" to purchase new instruments for his classroom. Isaac will officially accept the award from Barry Manilow at his concert on April 19th at the Cross Insurance Arena. Please join me in celebrating Isaac’s well-deserved recognition!.

Honoring Our Librarian: Kelly Tibbetts

This Friday, we celebrate National School Librarian Appreciation Day. We are so fortunate to have Ms. Tibbetts leading our library and supporting our students' literacy and research needs every day. Please stop by the library this week to thank her for her vital contributions to the GHS community!.

  • The Activity: Found poems are created by taking existing texts (like newspapers or old books) and refashioning meaningful words into a new poem.

  • Materials: Every advisor will find a packet of pages in their mailbox. Additional pages are available in the library.

  • Prompt: Create a poem that shows your school experience or how writing affects you.

  • Submissions: Take a picture and email it to The Ram Jam or drop the physical product in Mrs. Tibbetts' mailbox by the end of the week.

  • Prizes: Two advisories will win prizes, and one overall winner will be published in the spring edition of The Ram Jam literary magazine!
