Celebrating Our School Social Workers

This week, March 2–6, is National School Social Worker Appreciation Week. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible team: Claudine Emerson, Cynthia Grover-Collins, Emily Ryan, and Nicole Hudson. Their dedication to supporting the mental health, well-being, and success of our students is a cornerstone of the GHS community. If you see them this week, please join us in thanking them for all they do!

Welcoming the NEASC Visiting Team

From March 1 to March 4, Gorham High School will host our NEASC Decennial Accreditation Visit. A team of educators from across New England will be on campus to observe classrooms, meet with student panels, and review our work regarding our "Vision of a Graduate". GHS Remote Learning Expectations

In the event that we have a remote-learning day, GHS teachers will provide asynchronous activities designed to ensure students progress in the curriculum.

  • Communication: By 8:00 AM, teachers will email students or post the plan for their classes to Google Classroom.

  • The Plan: Each plan will include a lesson (presentation, video, reading, etc.), instructions for an activity, and "office hours" (minimum of two hours) for student assistance.

  • Student Responsibilities: Students are expected to have their iPad and check their email/Google Classroom to find their assignments. All activities should be completed before the start of the next class period.

  • Nutrition Program & Snow Day Lunch Requests:For any remote snow days beyond our 5 built-in days, a bagged lunch is available for students. Lunches will be sent home the day before a remote learning day. Any student who wishes to receive a bagged lunch must complete the Remote Snow Day Lunch Request Form to participate.
