Note: District Early Release; no 9:30 AM bus

Key Policies & Reminders
Attendance: Students are only required to be on campus when they have a scheduled exam.
Study Hall: Students staying at school between exams must report to the cafeteria for a supervised study hall.
CTE Students: Students attending WRVC or PATHS must attend their GHS exams; transportation to regular programs will continue at normal times.
Supervision: Students must remain in their exam rooms for the full period; early departures are not permitted.
Lunches: Bag lunches will be provided for any student who would like one during exam week.
Textbooks: Students in semester-long classes must return textbooks to their teachers before taking the exam.
🎓 Attention Seniors: Scholarship Workshops
Are you interested in applying for scholarships for college or do you need help with the process? Ms. Cherry is hosting two workshops this week:
When: Tuesday, Jan 20th and Friday, Jan 23rd
Time: Workshops start at 11:30 AM
Location: GHS Library
What You’ll Learn: Search and application tips, as well as general scholarship "tips and tricks" to help make college more affordable.
💉 Attention Juniors: Senior Year Vaccination Requirements
The Maine Department of Education requires at least one additional vaccination prior to entry into 12th grade. As you prepare for your senior year (Class of 2027), please note:
Required Vaccine: Two doses of MenACWY (also known as Meningococcal, Meningitis, or MCV4).
Note: Only one dose is required if the first dose was given on or after your 16th birthday.
Action Needed: Use upcoming spring or summer physical exams to receive this vaccination. If you have already received it, please forward a copy of your immunization record to Nurse Homan.
🗳️ Attention Sophomores: Student Opportunity: Maine State Board of Education
Applications are now open for a student member position on the Maine State Board of Education.
Eligibility: Current high school sophomores (Class of 2028).
District Focus: This specific opening is for students attending public school in the Second Congressional District.
Deadline: Friday, February 13, 2026.
Details: Student members serve for two years and provide a vital perspective to the Board's decisions. Application materials are available on the Student Board Members webpage.
