ICAI Academic Integrity Contest

On Wednesday, October 15th, Gorham High School had the honor of participating in the International Day of Action for Academic Integrity, an annual global event where schools, universities, and libraries celebrate integrity in learning and highlight this year’s theme: “Everyday Integrity: Discovering Your Superpower!”

As part of the worldwide program, students and educators joined a variety of live sessions exploring topics such as Acting Ethically Everywhere, Integrity Superheroes in Education, and Showing Your Strength Beyond the Classroom. But the true highlight for our school community was the Everyday Integrity at High School panel—featuring five GHS seniors who represented Gorham on an international stage.

Because Gorham High School received the ICAI Campus of Integrity Award last spring, our students were invited to co-host a live panel with International Baccalaureate students from Westwood High School in Round Rock, Texas. Together, the students shared their perspectives on what integrity looks like at Gorham, how it shapes our culture, and why ethical decision-making matters both inside and outside the classroom.

Celebrating Our Student Leaders

Please join us in congratulating the following seniors for representing GHS—and our community values—with clarity, confidence, and authentic leadership:

  • Isabel Phinney

  • Claudette Wesse

  • Tabitha Lavigne

Integrity Through Creativity

In addition to the panel, many seniors submitted original comic-strip entries to the ICAI Academic Integrity Contest, a challenge that invites students to illustrate how honesty, responsibility, and ethical choices show up in everyday life. Contest results are expected soon, and we are hopeful that GHS will celebrate even more student success.

Mr. Parvanta is also creating a digital slideshow of the submitted comic strips, which will appear on our school displays in the coming weeks—be sure to check them out!

We’ve also included some behind-the-scenes photos from the livestream to give you a glimpse of the hard work and excitement from the day.

GHS is proud of the ways our students continue to lead, inspire, and model integrity—not just academically, but in the choices they make every day. Thank you to our students for representing Gorham so well and reminding us that integrity truly is a superpower.
