GHS Students Shine in the Maine App Challenge
Celebrating Gorham High School’s Outstanding Performance in the Maine App Challenge!
In cooperation with University of Maine, Tyler Technology’s Maine App Challenge provides the opportunity for Maine students to explore the world of software design and development. Created in 2015, this annual challenge provides Maine students the chance to show off their skills and creativity by building a mobile application. Not only is this a unique way to develop abilities, but participants also have the chance to win valuable prizes, including scholarships totaling $10,000!
I’m thrilled to share some incredible news—Gorham High School had five student-created apps place in the Top 10 of the 2025 Maine App Challenge! This year’s competition was the largest yet, with 127 app submissions from across the state. Our students not only rose to the occasion but soared, earning multiple top awards:
🥈2nd Place – Everett Hurder
🥉3rd Place – Oliver Emerson
🏅4th Place – Owen Eling
🏅6th Place – Isaiah Whitehead
🏅8th Place – Milo Saucier
In addition, honorable mentions were awarded to Harry Baber, Abe Palme, and Kevin Munyaneza—a testament to the deep pool of talent and innovation here at GHS.
This achievement is not only a reflection of the creativity and perseverance of our students, but also a celebration of the dedication of our educators and mentors, particularly Ms. Ambrose, who provided guidance to so many of these students. Thank you to everyone who supported their learning and exploration of STEM and app development.
Please join me in congratulating these remarkable students for their innovation, problem-solving, and vision for building a better future through technology.
We are incredibly proud of you all!
Warmly,
Brian Jandreau
