Seniors!
Congratulations, Class of 2026, on making it to your senior year! There are a lot of fun activities and events happening this year to celebrate your successes and time at GHS.
Gorham High School
Senior Events
Dear GHS Families of the Class of 2026,
With graduation and all the wonderful events leading up to it already underway, I wanted to take a moment to highlight a few important details you need to know. Please take a look below.
Senior Class Trip - Friday, May 29, 2026
Seniors must meet with Mr. Jandreau on Friday, May 29th at 7:50 a.m. in the MPAC for important information about end-0f-the-year events. Following the brief meeting, seniors will go to the gym for the yearbook dedication assembly, will get their yearbooks, and then will depart on their class trip around 8:30.
Important Information about the Class Trip:
There will be a bag check prior to departing on the class trip. Students are not permitted to bring open containers or anything else that is not typically allowed in school, including medication.
Seniors must have turned in a permission slip in order to go on the class trip.
A life guard will be present at Crescent Beach State Park so seniors will be permitted to swim if they wish.
Marching Practice - Monday, June 1st – Friday, June 5th
Participation in marching practice is required for any senior who wishes to participate in the graduation ceremony. Marching practice begins at 8 a.m. SHARP Monday through Friday outside on the stadium field.
Students will receive their caps and gowns, which cost $40 (cash or checks made payable to Gorham High School), and Graduation tickets during Marching Practice.
All debts (e.g. cafeteria charges, library fines, missing textbooks, etc.) must be settled prior to receiving caps and gown or graduation tickets. Students will receive a form to be signed by school staff noting that they are debt free on the first day of marching practice.
Senior Celebration
Senior Celebration will be Thursday, June 4th at 6:30 in the MPAC (seniors must arrive by 6:00 p.m. dressed in their gowns (no caps)). Senior Celebration is a wonderful event where we highlight each member of the graduating class. Each senior will receive two tickets. If there are remaining tickets, we will distribute them during marching practice one-at-a-time to seniors who need additional tickets.
Senior Walk and Senior BBQ - Friday, June 5th
The Senior Walk, where the graduates walk through the schools in their caps and gowns, will be on Friday, June 5th. We will begin at GHS around 8:30 and then go to Great Falls, Narragansett, Village, and GMS (in this order). Superintendent Perry will be livestreaming the event on Facebook. Upon returning to GHS, seniors will head to a BBQ hosted by the Athletic Boosters (thank you, Boosters!).
Graduation - Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 4:00
Graduation will take place at Gorham High School on the stadium field at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Please review the following details for more information:
Seniors must be at the high school by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7th. They will meet in the auditorium for last-minute preparations. They should be wearing caps and gowns and all other regalia (e.g. stoles and cords).
The gates to enter the GHS Stadium will open at 2:30 p.m. for individuals with disabilities and 3:00 p.m. for everyone else. Only those with a ticket will be allowed to enter. Seniors will be given eight tickets during marching practice to distribute to family and friends of their choosing.
For security reasons, backpacks or other large bags will not be permitted; handheld, personal bags may be searched prior to entering.
Access Road will be closed from the GHS Parking Lot to Narragansett Street (Route 202) beginning at 2:00 p.m. on June 7th and extending through Graduation.
Parking will be extremely limited! There are only 240 parking spots on the GHS campus. Anyone planning to attend Graduation should make arrangements to carpool, to park off campus and walk, or to park at Gorham Middle School and utilize a shuttle service that we will be running between GMS and GHS. The shuttle service will begin at 2:30. It will begin again following the ceremony to transport people back to GMS. Handicap parking will be provided in spots 40-74 for seniors who have reserved them during marching practice. There may be extra handicap parking spots on a first come, first serve basis. Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) will be managing these spots.
Seating will be on a first come, first served basis. The Gorham High School facility, including the stadium, is ADA compliant, which means individuals with disabilities should be able to access the stands or the black chairs on the track. For individuals in a wheel chair, there will be plenty of room on the track in front of the portable bleachers.
Restrooms will be available at the snack shack. Food will not be available.
Graduation will be streamed live. A link to the stream will be made available in the days just prior to the ceremony.
Gorham High School, as are all school facilities, is a tobacco-free zone. Please refrain from bringing any tobacco products, including cigars, on campus. Police will take notice.
Plan for Rain or Inclement Weather
Unless the forecast calls for a soaking rain, downpours, or severe weather, then the graduation ceremony will be held outside on the Gorham High School Stadium Field.
Dress For The Weather
Temperature and weather conditions can vary considerably between the beginning and end of the graduation ceremony. Please come prepared for all weather conditions (bring warm coats, rain gear, hats, sunscreen, water etc.) and wear shoes appropriate for damp, grassy terrain. For those who prefer to be indoors, a live broadcast of the ceremony will be provided.
Soaking Rain Or Severe Weather
If a soaking rain or severe weather is in the forecast, the graduation ceremony will be held in the Dean Evans Gymnasium and the McCormack Performing Arts Center (MPAC). A weather announcement will be communicated to seniors, their parents or guardians, and staff via email and posted on the Gorham High School website as soon as the decision is made. In the event that we need to hold graduation inside, each graduate will be allocated 6 tickets for the Dean Evans Gymnasium where the actual ceremony will take place and 2 tickets for MPAC where the ceremony will be streamed onto the large screen.
Graduation Convoy
In collaboration with the Gorham Police Department and the Gorham Fire Department, we will once again host a Graduation Convoy to celebrate Gorham’s Class of 2026. Students and their parents or guardians need to meet at JP Noonan on Main Street / Route 25 at 7:00. The convoy will commence at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7th beginning at and conclude at Gorham High School.
Graduates must ride with their parents or guardians as this is a family event. Because the convoys will be traveling on main roads at higher rates of speed, students and families must follow all traffic laws, which means that riding in beds of pickup trucks or standing through a sunroof may result in a traffic violation.
More information to follow during marching practice.
Project Graduation
Project Graduation is a wonderful opportunity for graduates to celebrate their accomplishments and be together as a class one last time in a positive, safe, chemical-free way. While we highly encourage graduates to participate, it is not mandatory. Please see the attached information sheet for more information.
Any graduate wishing to attend Project Graduation must have a parent or guardian complete a Google Form (i.e. permission slip). All parents received the link to the form in an email from Barbara Gagnon. You can also access here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScnLhEDcOS8a0isItUfqr7V6GhOFo1_ydIwb9iImvOxng8oHw/viewform
There is no cost to any graduate to participate in Project Graduation. There will be an abundance of food and entertainment.
Participants must arrive at GHS by 7:30 p.m., and they will be transported to the Project Graduation site via school buses. Graduates may not transport themselves and cannot leave their car at GHS overnight.
