Statement to students regarding the tragedies in Lewiston

In the wake of the Lewiston shootings, we are coming together as a school community to support each other. While this event did not happen in Gorham, we know that it impacts our community.

It is important that we talk about what happened, support each other, and work together to keep each other safe.

Today, and over the course of the following days and weeks, we need to take care of each other. Any student who would like to talk about this event is encouraged to do so with the adults in our school. Our school counselors and social workers are available to talk with any student who is impacted by this tragic event. Students can simply let their teacher know that they would like to go to the Guidance Office or the Roosevelt Room.

We have many measures in place to help ensure our safety. We want you to know that the adults in our school and community care about you and are doing everything we can to keep you safe.

In honor of the 18 lives lost and the multiple people injured, we would like to hold a moment of silence.
