hi everyone we are the ghs override Steam and we filled the pouring so despises language using a high school hallways today we are focusing on the Edward the day welcome School survey what this word is still being used at ghs and it makes people feel unwelcome it is important to understand its meaning and negative implications this word is primarily used to attack black people originated from the French and Spanish word for black it was established as a derogatory term 1800s by slave owners all over the Americas and Europe use to dehumanize black people in order to make horrific acts committed by slave owners in 1800 seamless tomorrow it was used as a noun verb and adjectives all of which imply hate disgust directed towards black people still use this way today in certain contacts even after the ratification of slavery this word continue to be primarily used by white people and was weaponized during the Civil Rights Movement the word is used in several different context is today and to show hatred induced dehumanization of black people something about equation of slavery some black box shows in to reclaim the word by changing its definition in this context where can you buy the head of friendship when only used by black people remember to be conscious of your words thanks for listening
