WORKPLACE LEARNING MENTORS NEEDED

Seniors enrolled in our workplace learning experience have started to explore their future stories through job shadows and internships. We're looking for mentors in the following career fields:

  • Marine Biology
  • Veterinary Medicine
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Interior Design / Hospitality

Thomas College is hosting a full-day career exploration event for students interested in teaching, business leadership, tech innovation, and crime scene analysis. In addition to hands-on exploration in the field of your choice, a campus tour and lunch are provided. 

Eggs & Issues is a breakfast forum held by the Portland Chamber of Commerce. Once a month, people throughout the region come together to discuss timely economic issues over eggs (or fruit). Complimentary tickets are provided to interested Gorham students.

Maine Medical Center is offering a virtual pre-medicine club for high school students. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, Tufts University medical students will share advice about college applications, share info about the medical profession, & guide you through medical mystery cases. More info.

The ACE Program offers an opportunity for students to explore architecture, construction, and engineering through hands-on projects, guest speakers, mentoring, and group job shadows. The Gorham Times has openings for student interns this school year. As a student intern, you'll commit 2-6 hours/month to write pieces for the paper, take photographs, and/or post on social media.

Support and guidance will be provided by the Gorham Times Editor, Christie Paul, throughout.
